Description: This Pesquisa FAPESP feature reports on the findings of the GPEIA research project on gender interactions at the University of São Paulo Law School, highlighting how everyday classroom dynamics can reproduce gender inequality in legal education. The article discusses evidence gathered through participant observation and interviews with students, revealing patterns such as the underrepresentation of women in the curriculum, gendered perceptions of professors, and barriers to women’s participation in class. As one of the study’s coordinators, I was interviewed about the research findings and contributed to explaining how these structural dynamics shape students’ academic experiences and reinforce a hidden curriculum in legal education.
